Muhannad Haddad grew up here, went to school here, got a job in a bank here and traveled to foreign countries with a passport from here. Then one day the authorities said he was no longer Israeli, and with that one stroke they took away his citizenship and compromised his ability to travel, study, work, seek health care, buy property or even drive.

Israel blocks Flytilla activists
Israel has forced airlines to cancel the tickets of scores of pro-Palestinian activists they suspect were headed to the Occupied Territories to take part in this year's Welcome to Palestine event -- dubbed the Flytilla 2012. Campaigners from north America and Europe have been banned from travelling as the Israeli authorities try and clamp down on known Palestinian supporters. Amina Taylor reports.

The paper [The Jordanian newspaper Al-Arab Al- Yawm] quoted government officials in Amman as saying that the decision to revoke the Jordanian citizenship would affect some 1.6 million Jordanians of Palestinian origin.This move is apparently designed to help Palestinians by preserving their national identity, in preparation for their ‘return to Palestine’. Adam Levick concludes by asking:
Do I even have to ask how the Guardian would cover the story if it was Israel revoking the citizenship of over one million Palestinian Arab citizens?
