The Treaty of Peace and Annex III thereto provide for establishing normal economic relations between the Parties.
In accordance herewith, it is agreed that such relations will include normal commercial sales of oil by Egypt to
Israel, and that Israel shall be fully entitled to make bids for Egyptian-origin oil not needed for Egyptian domestic oil consumption, and Egypt and its oil concessionaires will entertain bids made by Israel, on the same basis and terms as apply to other bidders for such oil.

=== General Tariq Al - Mahdi, the district governor of Wadi Al - Jadid in Egypt and a member of the military leadership, said this morning (Monday), that the Egyptian decision to cancel the gas agreement with Israel will not lead to war between the states.
"Such problems are not solved by war", he told the Egyptian television.
He added that the decision "will satisfy the desire of many Egyptian citizens and will add additional respect to them"!
"It is impossible to link the peace agreement with the gas agreement..." he added.
